When the need for roof replacement became apparent, we had only one company in mind because of that first meeting with Justin. They were fast, efficient, helpful, and communicative at every step of the process, and they didn't leave us to figure things out on our own at any point along the way - not even with the insurance and adjuster. Not sure on the extent of the damage and my concern to have it checked out quickly, I went to James Kate's contact us page and filled in my info and message around 10pm. Within minutes!!!, Dustin Eatman replied back and we set up a time to come out the next morning. Early the next morning, he observed the damage, spoke with my wife while he was there, and also gave me a call to discuss what needed to be done. The following morning, he came out and fixed it. His work and customer service are excellent. He was extremely nice and professional. As far as I know, you can't be more competitive with quality of service and price. I will also mention that I put messages out to several other local roofers via their contact us pages (since we live in a web based world) and Dustin was the only one to ever reply back, and to think about how quickly he responded was amazing. I own a small business and I understand the importance of quality work and genuine customer service and I have to say I was MORE THAN IMPRESSED. I'm glad I didn't have to replace my entire roof, but when that time comes I know who to call. Seriously, anyone who needs roof work done, do not hesitate and call James Kate Roofing. We... read moreI can't even begin to explain how much I appreciate James Kate Roofing and the work they do. We needed our roof replaced and wanted to make sure we went with a reputable roofer. Our neighbors had recently replaced theirs too and had a James Kate sign in their yard so I checked with the neighbors about their experience and they loved James Kate Roofing and specifically about Shannon Lambert. I also did my due diligence online and saw that James Kate Construction has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and has quite a number of great reviews. I reached out to them and Shannon Lambert contacted me very quickly and explained the whole process and answered all my questions. Shannon worked with our insurance company directly and make the process VERY easy for me. She even gave me input on colors of shingles and gutters/downspouts when I asked for it as I was wanting something different than what we had. She honestly seemed like more of a friend than just a contractor. So the experience with our house was amazing. But what was above and beyond in my book was that I called Shannon to see if they had any recommendations on roofers in the Austin area because my 89 year old mother needed to get her roof replaced as part of the negotiation on selling her house down there and had about 2 weeks to do it without jeopardizing her closing day. I was hoping that maybe I would get a company name or two, but instead Shannon checked with the James Kate roofing team and they decided they were willing to take a day trip down to Georgetown just to take care of my mom's roof. That was completely unexpected and such a blessing because there was nobody living in the house at the time that could coordinate things and I had to do everything from Dallas. Shannon borrowed a spare key from me and took over. They got the new roof on even though we hadn't figured out how the payment process was going to work with my mom's insurance and bank yet. Educated us on what we needed to do to get our roof replaced. Was available basically 24/7 for whatever crazy questions we had and worked with us on the financial side as well. When they came out to replace the roof, we got texts days in advance when they'd be coming instead of just showing up like some contractors do. The crews that came out were very professional and polite. They made sure nothing would get broke, moved what needed to be moved, covered the rose bushes etc. Nothing got damaged except the old roof 🙂 If you need a roof replaced this is the construction company to use. Again, an absolutely wonderful experience due to everyone being professional, courteous and polite through out the whole process. They gave me a quote for a 30 year roof. A friend of a friend referred me to another option with Dustin. He did his own quote, then evaluated mine. In evaluating my initial quote, he gave me feedback related to older technologies that the prior quote was going to use in relation to the attic venting. I went with Dustin's quote (James Kate Roofing) as a result. The roof looks excellent and were very pleased! The real test was when my wife went into the attic and said she could feel a significant reduction in the temperature related to the ridge vents. Now I'm waiting to see the impact on my energy cost. They showed up early the next morning, inspected my entire property, and tarped the skylight to prevent any leaks from storms that were expected the next couple days. All of the legwork that James Kate Construction did on the front end--pictures, damage spot identification, explain the process in simple terms--all made this an easy process for me thru the claim process. The roof installation group arrived at 6:30am and were done with my ENTIRE roof and skylight replacement by 1:30pm! Amazing... My property was spotless when they left and the workers were polite and professional. Gutter replacement took 2 5 hours a couple days later. The group was just like the roof group, super nice and even asked for my input on where I wanted the downspouts placed. Subtle touch, but this is huge in terms of customer service! Hopefully you never need your roof replaced, but I would highly recommend James Kate Construction if you are ever in my situation. On the 3rd day, Dustin was here double checking the cleanup, picking up nails and just going above and beyond. He has communicated with me every step of the way, letting me know exactly what to expect. On the day the job was complete, I was informed by insurance that extra supplements were approved for gutter work and some things insurance missed. Anyway I'm glad they declined as James Kate immediately said the roof was not problem for them. Very prompt in providing an onsite visit, asking me what I wanted in detail. The quote was itemized and they completed all work and then some. I can tell they are proud of the work they do and their crew was fantastic. Sandra and Joseph prepared the quote and when it came time for color selections Shannon brought her design expertise and after seeing options we all agreed on a new stucco color. Slightly darker and it looks great next to the stone and Chicago brick areas of the house. I am an architect but having Shannon's designer eye really helped. Work started as initially scheduled at the time of the quote. The crew was great and cleaned up each day after non-stop activity. No breaks until the job was finished. I mean these guys work hard.
